A great
compilation of music from around the world, but especially
inspired by Asia. We used one of the tracks off of this CD
for our "Water Dance" that you may have seen us
perform!

very flamenco inspired. The CD is pretty evenly distributed
between music that could be used for taqsim to fast rhythms

this CD in class, particularly for taqsim.

Awakening
Awakening
is Gypsy Caravan's darkest work. To be honest, the first
time I heard it, I didn't care much for it. I listened to
it for a few days, and after getting used to their new sound,
it quickly became one of my favorite CDs. It is one of the
darkest belly dance CDs I have ever heard, but once you
get used to it, you'll be addicted to it. Tribe Zayna uses
this CD in class and for performance.

Rhythm
of the Dance
Rhythm
of the Dance is the CD that Tribe Zayna uses for isolations.
Each track on the CD is a particular Middle Eastern Rhythm,
so it is great for familiarizing yourself with the rhythms
that are discussed in class. Even if you don't study with
Tribe Zayna, these rhythms are important in your continuing
study of belly dance. Since the rhythms are fairly basic,
it's a great CD for beginners, as well as more advanced students
to dance to. This CD is also perfect for use with zil practice.
This
CD, along with Caravan Rhythms, should be the first CDs a
beginning belly dance student should buy.

Sha'waza
The word
Sha'waza means bewitchment and describes this beautiful and
haunting music. Jeremiah Soto of Solace challenges the listener
by weaving in and out of melodic modes utilizing a combination
of ethnic instruments such as Oud, Saz, Bendir, Riqq, Darbukka
and Zills to create a modern blend of traditional sound, while
keeping true to the ethnicity of the rhythms that made his
debut Rhythm of the Dance so popular. Sha'waza promises to
challenge all levels of dancers from beginning to advanced
and provides a level of drama and intrigue to complement the
art of the dance.
Songs
: Rebirth 1, Kedar, Cybele, Two Gypsies, Sha'waza, Ophelia's
Hands, Ceremony Of The Skull, Serpentine, Ophelia's Dance,
Rebirth 2

The
Gathering Season
The journey
begins with the brooding sounds of a paradise lost... of a
people scattered... wandering the endless sea of sand in search
of solace... to one day build a home where the soil yields
a plentiful harvest... to one day gather as one nation in
unity and peace.
Recruiting
the musical talents of Dann Torres on Oud and Saz along with
Tony Karasek on Sitar, Tanbura and Sarangi, Solace weaves
a 12 chapter tale of loss, of searching and discovery creating
a new and unique musical depth that is uplifting as well as
introspective. Begin the journey by traveling the distant
spice trails of the world to enter The Gathering Season.
Songs
: Paradise Lost, Huda, Desert Journey, The Sultan's Dance,
Aenaem, Qabil, Eyes Like Cats, Harvest Moon, Saaba, Hujayni,
Journey's End

Ahsas
Ahsas
translates into "feelings" and is definitely an understatement
in describing Solace's new release. With the musical talents
of Harry Saroyan, Lydia Fortner, Steven Flynn, Dann Torres,
Alex Spurkel, Jim Karagozian and Yogini Kundalini, Solace
blends a tapestry of complex rhythms and haunting melodies
which makes this Jeremiah's most personal and powerful release
to date. Ahsas is one of the most anticipated albums of 2000
and once again adds another dramatic chapter to the Solace
legacy.
Songs
: Solitude, Khatar, Circle, Exiled, Kronos, Blessings, Redemption,
Forsaken, Opaque, Crimson, Kama
